Local and State Organizations and Communities of Practice:
- Clayton Early Learning-https://www.claytonearlylearning.org/
- I chose Clayton as they are an organization in Colorado who are known in the field for their strength in the Early Childhood field. They receive a great deal of funding to provide care for all children and continue extensive research into the early childhood field.
- United Way of Weld County-https://www.unitedway-weld.org/
- I recently interview here and was extremely impressed with what they are doing for early childhood education in their rural communities. Had the pay been more livable, I would've jumped at the occasion to work for this organization. The team working for early childhood programs seems like a strong community of practice.
- Denver Preschool Program-https://dpp.org/?npclid=Cj0KCQjwn_LrBRD4ARIsAFEQFKtyXWDeA8PuAdgGWSNabr8cA504LVOJzAAp7l3L-GCFTr0ROs2rbOoaAuEnEALw_wcB
- This organization works to provide tuition assistance for all preschool children in Denver County. They also work to put practices in place that work to provide high-quality care for all children. They align with my mission in many ways.
- Early Childhood Coach to work with programs on classroom management, curriculum, quality improvement ratings, director mentorship, etc.
- Early Childhood Trainer-Provide trainings for early childhood programs and and educators on early childhood mental health and trauma.
Skills and experience:
- Certifications in different quality improvement processes
- Further Education and Knowledge around quality improvement programs
- Further Education and Knowledge in early childhood mental health and trauma
Hi Rachel,
ReplyDeleteUnited Way is doing a lot of good work for children and families and would certainly be a great organization to work for. Clayton Early Learning also sounds very interesting to me, because you mentioned that they are engaged in research in the early childhood field. I quite enjoy research work, and after reading your post, I realized that I had not explored this option. I would definitely look for opportunities in the area of research, once I complete this program. Thanks for sharing!
